Problem:
When the Windows Vista installation disc is inserted for a fresh Vista install, after you boot up the computer from the disc, everything goes extremely slow. The loading progress line goes slow, the menu comes up after like 15-30 minutes and if you are determined to continue like that and run the install, the installation process seems like forever.
Solution:
The solution to this problem is pretty simple. I don't know why, but after you disable the floppy from the BIOS all this mess is simply gone. The Vista installation goes normal as it should. Simply enter the BIOS (usually hitting the DEL or F2 key) find the "Legacy Diskete A" which is set to: "1.44M, 3.5 in." by default, and simply change that to "Disabled". That's all you have to do to solve your slow Windows Vista Installation.
